Latest Development Plan Priorities
As a school, we constantly review where we are and how we can improve to ensure your child receives the best education at Ysgol Gynradd Llandegfan. Through self-evaluation and ongoing review across the school we identify our key priorities for improvement. This site gives an outline of the school's current situation. Choose your language below.
School's Current Strengths:
- Our family ethos which prioritises that we are all learning together and will support each other in this process.
- Our effective self-evaluation procedures which allow school to recognise and respond to areas that need developing.
- That we harness teacher expertise in order to create interesting and effective themes to grab pupil’s attention.
School Development Plan Priorities 2023-24:
- Use effective assessment for learning practices consistently across the school to ensure personal pupil progress.
- Continue to improve Welsh language standards across the school
- Further develop the school’s science and technology provision in real life contexts in order to strengthen pupil progress.
School Development Plan Priorities 2022-23 Reviewed:
- Promote pupil’s ownership of the Welsh Language and their heritage/culture. To ensure that their Welsh language skills are developed progressively so that they become confident bilingual users. – This has been achieved by various Welsh language activities during the year which showcased the benefits of learning and using the language with the pupils.
- Close the attainment gap through individual pupil personal progress – Achieved through appointing a designated SENCO, purchasing resources to support pupil progress and the use of online resource to track and monitor pupil progress to ensure pupils are recognised quickly.
- To use the ethos of the New Curriculum to further develop a self-improving school – Achieved with the expansion of the Upper management team, Using online software to ensure Curriculum skills are planned appropriately as well as supporting teachers in designing an interesting learning environment.
